Meet Your 2023-24 Student Delegates! |
Dear SFUSD High School Students:
Hi everyone! My name is Meagan To and I'm honored to be elected as your Student Delegate for the 2023-24 school year. I'm a senior attending George Washington High School and I hope to address critical issues in our school district and create a strong channel of communication between student voices and the Board of Education. |

Hey there! My name is Linnani Simpson, though some know me better as Linn, and I am proud to serve alongside Meagan as the Interim Student Delegate. Once the 2023-24 Student Advisory Council (SAC) is formed, I will hopefully become the second permanent Student Delegate. I use she/her pronouns and I'm a senior at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. My goal is to make access to and understanding of the inner workings of the district more equitable so that self-advocacy is as accessible as it should be. |

You Belong Here. Let's Show Up For Each Other.
Your presence matters to your teachers and other trusted adults at school – and to your friends. Plus, we know from the research that showing up every day for every class has a measurable impact on helping students reach the goal of graduation and finding success beyond high school. Regular attendance helps ensure you accumulate the credits you need to graduate, and keeps you connected with teachers and peers. If there are problems that make it hard for you to go to school, please don't hesitate to reach out to your teachers and counselors. |

tbh Season 4 on KALW Public Media
How are teens and teachers using or abusing ChatGPT at school? How can youth empower themselves mentally to become effective and optimistic climate activists? How did one Bay Area high school cope with the fentanyl-lacing death of a senior? Why are teenagers so passionate about protesting, but not voting, and what can we do to change that?
San Francisco Bay Area teens tell their stories on these subjects and more in the latest season of KALW Public Media’s award-winning podcast, tbh podcast. Season 4 is available now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, the NPR One app, or any of your other favorite podcast players.
KALW’s radio license is owned by the San Francisco Unified School District but is operationally and editorially independent. Every summer, KALW invites teenage students to apply for a paid fellowship in their Summer Podcasting Institute. Selected students produce the next season of tbh, made by, about, and for teenagers. The Institute looks for an ambitious, open-minded, and energetic cohort of high school students or recent graduates. Students learn how to report, interview, write radio scripts, and voice their own radio stories. For more information, email tbh@kalw.org or visit kalw.org. |
