Happy new school year! I hope that each of you enjoyed a wonderful summer. I’m so appreciative to be returning for my second year as superintendent. We start this year with clear goals for student learning. Our values of equity and anti-racism guide our efforts to ensure that each and every student receives the quality instruction and support they need to thrive in SFUSD and beyond. Thank you for your continued partnership in your children’s educational journey.
Here in SFUSD, we have been hard at work preparing for the first day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 16. We recognize that safe and nurturing environments are essential to foster a joy of learning for our students. Please review the information included in this monthly e-newsletter and other SFUSD communications to help you and your child prepare for the new school year.
I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year and look forward to continuing to serve the students, families, and staff in this vibrant district committed to educational equity and academic excellence.
Dr. Matt Wayne
SFUSD Superintendent
